Very good, happy news! I have been offered an artist residency at the Baer Art Center in Iceland (www.baer.is). The Center is located in a very remote area, a 4-hour drive north of Reykjavik, on the eastern coast of Skagafjördur, a large fjord facing the Arctic Circle. Each year the Baer Art Center selects ten artists and architects for a one month residency at the Center and this summer I will be working there from June 8th until July 3rd. I am very excited and happy to be selected and look forward to the midnight sun and incredible light conditions. Thank you so very much Susan Hudson and Jed Dodds for your magic words and thank you Baer Art Center for this incredible opportunity!http://www.baer.is
A small selection of my work can now be rented, leased of bought at Teichert Gallery in Halifax.
Teichert Gallery is a centre for connecting both the local and international community with the work of emerging and established Maritime artists. First established in 1976 as the Art Sales and Rental Society, it is a not-for-profit organization to benefit the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia’s acquisition fund and to promote Atlantic Canadian artists by offering quality art to the public for rent, lease or sale. Located beside the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, Teichert Gallery is open seven days a week.

KEY WEST Photographs by Mariette Roodenburg
The Studios of Key West (TSKW) Main Hall
May 15 - June 13, 2014
Reception: May 15, 6 - 9 pm
Photographer Mariette Roodenburg, who was raised in the Netherlands and has made Nova Scotia her home, pulls a distinctive palette from the natural beauty of Key West. Cool blues and silver streaks accentuate the seascape and bring a coolness and stillness to the tropics. When Roodenburg was a resident at TSKW in 2013, she spent her month in paradise working to perfectly capture the unique light of that place where water meets sky; the almost mythological quietude that can saturate the waters of Key West. Now Roodenburg returns to Key West to exhibit the final results of so many days spent studying tides, sunrises, sunsets. In addition to exhibiting her first Key West body of work, Roodenburg also plans to spend her time building upon what she started last year; switching gears from photographing during the windy days of January 2013 to capturing the glassy seas of early summer 2014.
TSKW is located at the Historic Key West Armory
